Stop-Motion Animation Summer Workshop (June 19 - 22)
Stop-motion animation is a fun way to capture your stories and entertain your friends and family. Many famous animators got their start creating stop-motion animation. This process involves posing characters in scenes and situations and photographing each stage of their movement to create animation that reveals their story. In this digiSTORY KC workshop, participants will work in teams of 2 or 3 to create an original story which they will animate through Claymation, LEGO® characters or other objects. They will photograph their character scenes against a Green Screen background using a laptop and webcam. They will add voiceovers, sound effects, music tracks, titles, credits and other features to provide multimedia interest. They will publish their animation to digiSTORY KC’s YouTube Channel where they can share their story with friends and family. The workshop consists of four afternoons--workshops begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday June 19th through Thursday, June 22nd and end at 5:00 p.m. each day.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Minimum age is 9 years old -- maximum age is 15 years old.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Workshop sessions are held in the digiSTORY Academy which is located on the second floor of the Connecting for Good facility at 3210 Michigan Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64109. Ample, well-lighted parking is available on the west side of the building off Woodland Avenue. Enter through the Connecting for Good entrance just east of the parking lot.
What can I bring into the event?
All materials needed for the workshop are provided. If the participant would like to keep a copy of their video file at the end of the workshop, please bring a flash drive.

What's the refund policy?
Refunds are available for cancellations until 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 16th.
