Stop, Drop & Sketch!

Suma CM is an award-winning artist and urban sketcher who works in a variety of media. She has taught several workshops on sketching in the Bay Area. Suma specializes in super-fast captures of daily life with minimal equipment -- the kind that can be done on the go and can be fit into the routine of work and life. Her artwork and handmade greeting cards have been featured over the years in juried exhibitions and at specialty shops in London, New York, and Philadelphia.

<P>Learn how to fit a sketching practice into your daily routine, using dynamic, gestural line and loose, fluid color. We’ll go over ways to capture the essence of fleeting moments in just a few minutes each, while walking the streets of the city. A kit with all materials -- watercolor set, sketchbook, pen, waterbrush -- is included in the class fee (a $40 value).</P>

<P>After several exercises designed to build decisiveness and speed, we’ll share our sketches and see how different (or similar) everyone’s rapid captures turn out to be.</P>
