Stop Barking

The TaviTalks Lecture Series focuses on understanding dog behavior and improving communication with your canine family members.

Dog owners tell us that a major annoyance is hearing their dogs barking at home - whether it's because the dog hears noises, sees a visitor coming or for other reasons. For some owners, excessive barking can cause problems with neighbors or apartment managers complaining about the noise.

In this session, we will review the issue of barking in the home and ways to understand the dog's underlying emotional issues in order to reduce, manage or resolve this behavior.

Topics we will discuss include:

• Why dogs bark
• Recognizing different types of barks
• How relaxation exercises can be part of the solution
• Other training recommendations

NOTE: This session will focus on dogs barking in the home, rather than situations outside the home - such as on a walk when dogs may bark and react to other dogs.

And as always, we will allow plenty of time to answer your questions about other training topics and other questions you may have about your dog.
