<p>St. Louis has emerged as a recognized global leader in agtech- with a community of innovative corporations, entrepreneurs, startups and world-class research institutions who are collaborating in bold ways to ensure global food security by rethinking the ways in which we grow, harvest, produce and distribute food. At the same time, we face a growing food security challenge right here at home, where 1 of every 5 kids in the state of Missouri are hungry and at risk of not knowing where their next meal is coming from.
</p><p>This event will unite local leaders to "hack" solutions to improve food security across the region.  Participants include executive directors from non-profits focused on addressing hunger and food security; ag, geospatial, logistics and financial technology experts; innovative entrepreneurs and dedicated community leaders. The hack will organize attendees in teams to concept new technology applications, education programs, food market models, and urban agriculture solutions that can make a difference. The teams will spend the afternoon of April 20 hacking solutions and presenting to the other teams. On Tuesday evening, April 21, the concepts will be presented at a public event hosted at Danforth Plant Science Center.
