<DIV><SPAN STYLE="font-family: verdana,geneva; font-size: small;">This STIX training course is intended to take people who might have heard of STIX or are familiar with its basics to a level where they’re comfortable with the data model and how to use it. It will be semi-technical, participants should have some understanding of cyber threat intelligence in order to follow along.</SPAN></DIV>

<DIV><SPAN STYLE="font-family: verdana,geneva; font-size: small;">Training includes:</SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN STYLE="font-family: verdana,geneva; font-size: small;">- An overview of the data model and what each object is used for</SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN STYLE="font-family: verdana,geneva; font-size: small;">- An exercise in how to model a cyber threat intelligence report in the STIX data model</SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN STYLE="font-family: verdana,geneva; font-size: small;">- Tutorials in how to create and consume STIX content in python and Java</SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN STYLE="font-family: verdana,geneva; font-size: small;">The final topic will be an introduction to STIX 2.0, currently under development in the OASIS Cyber Threat Intelligence Technical Committee, how its different from STIX 1.2, and what the expected end state will be.</SPAN></DIV>

<P CLASS="MsoNormal"><SPAN STYLE="font-family: verdana,geneva; font-size: small;">What is the minimal prerequisites (technical background) needed to successfully attend this training session? Some knowledge of threat intelligence and computer security would be beneficial, but is not necessarily required. <BR></SPAN></P>

He also performs research into cyber situation awareness with the goal of improving business/mission impact analysis.</SPAN></P>
