Mental health and substance use disorders touch everyone. We know that people can and do recover with appropriate supports and services in the community, yet many avoid seeking help due to stigma and the fear of discrimination. Each of us can play a role in eliminating stigma and supporting those whose lives are affected by these conditions. However, addressing stigma takes a community wide collaborative approach.
Please join us on May 29 as we celebrate some of the Champions of our Stigma Free movement.
During breakfast, we will hear from Jared Lombardi, founder of a Positive Pursuit and a peer advocate working to improve conditions for those living with mental health and substance use disorders. Jared was recently awarded the Stockton University Alumni Impact Award.
We will also recognize many of those who have been actively working to reduce stigma in our communities.
