Volunteer activities can include planting trees and other California native plants, removing invasive plants, trail maintenance, educational activities, and more. All activities can be tailored to be accessible to people of all abilities and ages!

Frequently asked questions
Stewardship Days at Kaweah Oaks Preserve range from planting native plants (often during the Winter/Spring) to removing invasive plants to doing trail maintenance work, and more. All volunteer tasks can be modified and tailored to fit with your ability and comfort!
We will be working outdoors, so please dress accordingly! This often means wearing layers to accomodate changing weather throughout the day. Closed-toe shoes or boots are highly recommended, as is a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen! All necessary tools and gloves will be provided.
We will have potable water on site, but please bring your own refillable water bottle to fill throughout the day.
Yes! We have pit toilets in the main area of the preserve near the picnic area and main road.
Yes! All of our volunteer days are open to people of all ages, and we try to tailor activities to the abilities of our volunteers. Please reserve a "ticket" for all kids and adults that will be attending, so we can plan accordingly!
Kaweah Oaks Preserve is approximately 8 miles east of Visalia, on Road 182. We will meet at the picnic area, between the caretaker's residence and the bathrooms.
No, our volunteer events are free! As a non-profit organization, we always appreciate donations :)
Yes, any time spent volunteering with us can count as Community Service. Please let us know if you have certain requirements that you need to meet, so we can work with you accordingly. We are happy to sign off on any documentation that you need as well.
