About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Steve Turner is a UK based singer of traditional and contemporary folk songs with concertina and plays tunes on tenor banjo and mandolin. He is known as a pioneer of highly sophisticated English concertina song accompaniments, stretching the boundaries of traditional forms, with one of the best voices in the business. Among his areas of singing expertise are songs of the sea, and he will be performing at both the CT Sea Music Festival in June and the Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival in New Hampshire in September. A noted performer, he has also begun recording his 10th album, set for release later this year.

"Steve's singing and playing is magnificent...(he) is just as good in performance as he is on CD" - Mary Humphries, "Mardles" (East Anglia)

The concert will be held at a private residence in Woodside, Queens, close to 52nd Street station on the 7 train. Full address provided on registration; please check the fine print in the confirmation and tickets. Space for this concert is limited so purchase your tickets early!
