About this event

The Sterile Processing Technician program at Oakland Community College in Southfield, Michigan is designed to give entry-level healthcare workers the experience, knowledge, and skills necessary to become certified as a Central Service Processing Technician, also known as a Sterile Processing Technician. CSPT's are responsible for decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging and sterilizing reusable surgical instruments or devices in a healthcare facility. This program will consist of in-person classroom hours and clinical hours. Following completion of this program, individuals will have the knowledge required to sit for the Certification Board of Sterile Processing & Distribution Exam.

This program is eligible for Michigan Works! funding. Please contact your local office for more information.

The Sterile Processing Technician Information Session is a great way to find out more information about the program. It will be conducted virtually using Zoom. The Zoom link will be emailed to you from healthcaretraining@oaklandcc.edu about 2 hours before the session begins. For those who plan on enrolling, this information session is mandatory for enrollment.
