The Sterile Processing Technician program at Oakland Community College in Southfield, Michigan is designed to give entry-level healthcare workers the experience, knowledge, and skills necessary to become certified as a Central Service Processing Technician, also known as a Sterile Processing Technician. CSPT's are responsible for decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging and sterilizing reusable surgical instruments or devices in a healthcare facility. This program will consist of in-person classroom hours and clinical hours. Following completion of this program, individuals will have the knowledge required to sit for the Certification Board of Sterile Processing &amp; Distribution Exam.This program is eligible for Michigan Works! funding. Please contact your local office for more information.The Sterile Processing Technician Information Session is a great way to find out more information about the program. The session will be held virtually using Zoom. The Zoom link will be emailed to you about 2 hours before the session begins.
