Participants will learn about teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in the after school classroom. They will be given opportunities to see how inquiry-based science and student directed learning is beneficial in the classroom. Participants will be shown how to use open-ended questions appropriately when facilitating a STEM activity.
Learning Objectives:
-Participants will learn how to implement a STEM activity (or learning unit) in an after school classroom.
-Participants will be able to use open-ended questions effectively when implementing a STEM activity in an OST classroom.
-Participants will learn how to categorize STEM activities as introductory, exploratory, or culminating.
