Organized by

Theatre Americana is one of California’s oldest independent production companies, established in 1935 to present original plays by American playwrights, expanding and evolving over the years to combine old traditions with new ones.

We now also showcase the wide array of musical talent available in our home state in musical productions as varied as a 60’s concert, a Broadway night and a Country-Western show. We have implemented writing and acting workshops, and continue to explore new opportunities to help others grow both personally and artistically.

We have reached out and collaborated with organizations to help bring the arts to audiences of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds, including philanthropic endeavors to support the well-being of our communities.

Our history plays an important part in contributing to the culture and richness of our community.

For over 80+ years, Theatre Americana has been contributing to the arts and culture of our community. What was once a theater company nestled in the hills of Altadena, has evolved into an theatre company with a strong philanthropic component that serves all communities and cultures in Los Angeles County through diversified arts projects. We are proud to partner with non-profits that provide support for children and adults and promote an all-inclusive and equitable environment where all individuals are welcome.

With the leadership of the Board of Directors and feedback from our members, Theatre Americana has set goals to strategically grow the organization and boraden our outreach performing arts programs, as we continue to strive to provide the most sustainable and equitable way of enabling all participants in our arts projects to pursue their artistic goals, without bias or judgement. See our Culture and Diversity Clause for more information.
