Steam System Utilization & Energy Management Seminar - #PHY 006-01
Armstrong brings over 120 years of global thermal utility experience and knowledge to share with you. The North American Learning Center is a 4,000 square foot, state-of-the art facility featuring a glass low pressure steam system, dynamic HVAC system with several types of humidifiers discharging into see-through ductwork, and a live instrumented hot water temperature control system.
Our mission is to share our legacy of knowledge to increase productivity in your facility, increase system reliability, lower maintenance, keep your personnel safe all while reducing energy cost and emissions.
During this two-day seminar, you can expect a deeper understanding of the following topics:
• Steam Fundamentals: What is steam, sensible heat, latent heat and specific volume of steam or water at a given pressure?
• What is flash steam?
• Effects of air and Non Condensable Gas (NCG)
• Steam Quality – Why it is important?
• Steam trap technologies and why it is important to pick the right technology for the application and proper sizing
• Pressure/Temperature Control and why it is important to select, size and pipe correctly.
• Control Valves: Selecting proper trim characteristics, proper valve actuation with instrumentation.
• Proper steam distribution piping• Steam trap management and testing
• Low pressure steam challenges and solutions
• Condensate return methods and solutions
• Water Hammer Hazards
• Industrial hot water generation, hot water distribution and temperature control
• Institutional hot water generation, digital hot water control in the presence of a recirculation.
• Importance of Flow Measurement – Can you manage what you don’t measure?
• Humidification basics and types of humidification.
Our mission is to share knowledge that will increase productivity in your facility, increase system reliability, lower maintenance, keep your personnel safe while reducing your energy cost and emissions.
