About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours 30 minutes

Join us for an important and timely seminar focused on reducing employee injuries in special education classrooms. This session will explore real data on Member incident trends and high-cost workers’ compensation claims involving student-involved employee injuries—such as bites, scratches, kicks, and other physical behaviors. We’ll dive into the root causes of these injuries and discuss practical, proven strategies for creating safer, more productive learning environments. Topics will include the importance of effective communication, environmental safety design, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and proactive behavior management and documentation. Members will leave with actionable best practices to help protect themselves and their colleagues while supporting student success.

8:00 AM to 8:30 AM Registration/Breakfast

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Superintendents, Principals, Special Education Directors, Human Resources, Special Education Teachers, Teacher Assistants, CPI/Safety Care instructors, Safety Committee Chairs and other school personnel who would be impacted by student-involved employee injuries.
