About this event

Our session is geared toward parents or guardians of children, community members, or organizations that work with families and children.

The presentation is given by a Texas Child Care Regulation Inspector who will discuss how to find and identify regulated child care across Texas using our Search Texas Child Care website, explore the dangers of unregulated child care, expand your knowledge on the benefits of choosing regulated child care, and assist you in gaining a basic understanding of several safe sleep practices.

HHSC Childcare Regulation's Unregulated Operations Unit (UOU) builds awareness and educates Texas communities about the benefits of choosing a regulated child care operation. The UOU proactively searches for and investigates unregulated operations, processes exemption requests, and leads community engagement and outreach efforts. The UOU’s focus is to EDUCATE communities and families, EMPOWER families to choose regulated child care, and EXPAND the availability of regulated child care in Texas. The more you know, the better they’ll grow.
