Founded in 2014 by Sissel Hansen, Startup Guide is a creative content and publishing company that produces guidebooks and tools to help entrepreneurs navigate and connect with different startup scenes across the globe. As the world of work changes, our mission is to guide, empower and inspire people to start their own business anywhere. Today, Startup Guide books are in 40 different cities and regions in Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East, including Berlin, London, Tel Aviv, Stockholm, Copenhagen, New York, Singapore, Lisbon, and Paris. On September 18th, we’re celebrating the launch of our first book in Egypt: Startup Guide Cairo! Join us at Startup Haus Cairo for an evening of freshly printed books, insightful discussions and good company as we welcome the newest addition to our extended family of guidebooks.Ranked by a 2018 UN report as the most attractive African city for foreign investment, Cairo is a startup hub buzzing with youthful energy and a reputation for social entrepreneurship. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, then, that Egypt is on its way to becoming one of the top ecosystems on the continent!As part of the festivities, our community partner and event host, enpact, will give a sneak peak of this year’s <a href="http://startup-meter.org/#/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Startup Friendliness Index</a>. Based on more than 80 indicators, the SFI measures different conditions for entrepreneurial success in urban growth markets, including Cairo. Additionally, the launch event will feature a panel discussion exploring Cairo’s startup ecosystem evolution, which will be moderated by Rawan Bassam, Community Manager of <a href="http://startuphaus.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Startup Haus Cairo</a>.
