Event Description

Starting a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charity is not a decision to be taken
lightly. Public charities are subject to federal and state rules and regulations that are not imposed on “for-profit” small businesses, including how they will generate income. The purpose of this webinar is to help newly established and potential nonprofit founders gather information needed to make an informed decision on how to move their charitable missions forward. This is a BIG decision and I'd love to help you discover what's involved before you take the leap!

What You’ll Learn

1. Is a Nonprofit Public Charity Right for YOU? There are many ways to contribute to social good, and forming a nonprofit is just one of them. During our time together, I'll share information that will help you discern the difference between a nonprofit, a social enterprise, an L3C, and a public benefit corporation.

2. Benefits of Forming a Nonprofit Public Charity. There are so many benefits to forming a public charity! We'll discuss the difference between private foundations and public charities as we unpack some of the goodies that come along with this specific tax-code.

3. What Else Should You know? LOTS! But in our short time together, I'll give you a heads-up on a few potential hurdles that you will have to navigate in order to maintain your IRS Tax-Exempt status. I'll also show you where to find funding opportunities to help you further your mission!

Important: This webinar is being hosted on WebinarJam. You will receive instructions for access in your Eventbrite registration confirmation.
