Start the Semester Off Write! Spring Semester

By UConn Writing Center
Level 2 Seminar RoomStorrs, CT
Jan 25, 2016 to Feb 15, 2016
Overview

The UConn Writing Center invites UConn graduate students to "Start the Semester Off Write" with 4 quick morning writing retreats.

Modeled after our successful full-day writing retreats and four-daydissertation boot camps, these weekly, two-hour retreats feature a space to write and an excuse to do it so you can kick start your semester writing projects. The Writing Center recognizes that writing in big bursts can be helpful, but that smaller, recurring commitments can help form good writing habits throughout the semester. We challenge you to commit to 4 weeks of early morning writing to start the semester off right.

Arrive with the project you are working on now and your laptop, along with any notes or books you need. There will not be any tutoring or any lectures at these sessions.

Please bring your own coffee, and if you’d like, a snack for you and a snack to share! Coffee and tea are not provided at these retreats, but the Music and Dramatic Arts Library is directly across from Dog Lane Cafe, so you can grab a coffee on the way in and even park for free for 2 hours behind Storrs Center.

Event Details:

When: Mondays, 9 – 11 a.m., for the first 4 Mondays of the semester 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, and 2/15.

Where: Music and Dramatic Arts Library Seminar Room, Second Floor. Please note that we will meet in the lobby of the library and walk up together, because the library also opens at 9.
