Join the Rockville Brass Band on June 16 for a free concert featuring international soloists Vince DiMartino on cornet and Hiram Diaz on euphonium. Our guests on stage also include outstanding student musicians from high schools and colleges in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC. The concert takes place at 2pm on June 16th, at the Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Center, Montgomery College. On the program are cornet and euphonium solos, and ensemble works including Ecstatic Fanfare, Sea Songs, Reunion and Finale from Gettysburg, Vienna Philharmonic Fanfare, the Unfortunate Traveller, and Connotations.
At the concert, the Rockville Brass Band will announce scholarship awards to as many as four of the students, who submitted solo recordings for review. First place performers from a high school and a college will each win $1,000; second place soloists win $500.
