Starry Nights!

Rancho Canada del Oro Open Space PreserveMorgan Hill, CA
Saturday, Mar 14 from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm
Overview

Family Friendly Stargazing Event. Dress warm, bring water to drink, and come enjoy our docent astronomers as you look through their scopes.

The Open Space Authority is pleased to work with the San Jose Astronomical Association (SJAA) to co-host a community star party at Rancho Canada del Oro Open Space Preserve.

Just 20 minutes south of downtown San José, this location features night skies so dark you can see the band of our Milky Way galaxy!

The San Jose Astronomical Association official club members will set up their telescopes to help you get the most knowledge and enjoyment out of the truly dark starry night sky. Telescopes will be provided along with docent astronomers to show you the amazing features in the night sky. During the event, you are welcome to move freely from telescope to telescope, each one looking at a different feature in the sky. Please do not bring your own telescope (binoculars are welcomed, but please no tripods). Gates will be closed at 45 minutes after the program begins, to minimize headlights and create the best viewing experience. Please arrive before then.

Cloudy and inclement weather may cancel the event. If you are no longer able to attend, we kindly request you cancel your ticket to open space for others to attend.
