SCB connects the regenerative medicine community to the standards development processand occupies a unique niche within the regenerative medicine ecosystem: with no vested interest in a particular scientific, commercial, clinical, or policy approach,SCB is focused on facilitating the use and development of standards in response to demonstrated need expressed by a range of stakeholders.

<h2>The Standards Coordinating Body Presents: The Public Summary of the Standards Development Forum</h2><a href="https://www.standardscoordinatingbody.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Standards Coordinating Body (SCB)</a> brought together representatives from professional organizations, standard development organizations, accreditation bodies, government agencies, and pharmacopeias to discuss issues and opportunities within the regenerative medicine community.During this event, several opportunities for better public education/outreach were identified. The two major initiatives that will help the larger regenerative medicine community get involved with and contribute to the development of standards are:<ol><li>The creation and hosting of a public standards development resource. This resource will include information on, current standards efforts, the status of standards efforts, needed subject matter experts, and most importantly, how to get involved. </li><li>The creation of an open ballot update system. The information gathered and shared with SCB's stakeholders will include the current open ballots/comment periods for standards, the timeline for responses, and how to get involved in the next steps. </li></ol>In addition to these two major initiatives the other topics discussed at the Standards Development Forum were:<ul><li>Current efforts and topics of interest within the regenerative medicine community </li><li>The current needs of the regenerative medicine community</li><li>Opportunities for collaboration between the present organizations </li><li>What are the greatest challenges/needs facing the regenerative medicine community that can be addressed by the development of consensus standards. </li></ul>This webinar is a summary of that event.
