This training is invite only for City of Detroit employees.

This course provides a step-by-step framework ensuring participants can develop and maintain effective standard operating procedures within their organization.

Standard Operating Procedures are foundational tools for ensuring consistency, accountability, and legal compliance across City of Detroit departments and their business partners. From frontline service delivery to internal administrative workflows, SOPs define step-by-step actions aligned with City policies, legal standards, and departmental expectations. Eligible personnel must locate, interpret, and apply SOPs within their work environment.

By identifying the City of Detroit’s operational standards and documentation protocols, participating employees and partners will be able to align their practices with the City’s business requirements, enhance cross-departmental coordination, and reduce operational risk through proper procedural adherence.

The SOP Lab provides participants with a structured environment to develop a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) using the knowledge gained from the virtual or on-demand course. Completion of this lab is required for participants pursuing SOP certification.
