About this event

This training is targeted to professionals who work with stalking victims in the Maryland community including mental health and other health workers, law enforcement and those in other areas of the court system, advocates, and others who may encounter or want to support a stalking victim; however, all are welcome and may benefit from this training.

We will be covering basic information and introducing topics related to stalking.

Training Objectives include:

  • Definitions of Stalking
  • Use of PPOs (Peace and Protective Orders)
  • Victims' Rights
  • Record Keeping
  • Importance of evidence
  • Stalking victims' security
  • Victim barriers

We will not be going in depth regarding stalking behaviors, victim response tactics, motivational types or Maryland Laws.

Please keep in mind, this training is interactive and will include discussions of stalking and scenarios of stalking victimization, therefore it may be triggering for some participants.

Is pre-registration required?

Yes, all participants will need to pre-register. You will be sent an agreement explaining the terms of participation as well as our disclaimer regarding our restrictions, such as we do not provide mental health and legal advice. We will also send a 10 question pre-assessment.

Can I receive CEU credits for this training?

We are not yet able to offer continuing education (CEU) credits for any of our trainings; however, we are able to provide participation certificates upon completion of the follow-up assessment.
