Overview

This is an interactive training involving victim scenarios where we will introduce concepts & terms. Participants will work together.

This training is targeted to bystanders of stalking in Maryland, including family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and others who may encounter or want to support a stalking victim; however, all are welcome and may benefit from this training.

We will be covering basic information and introducing topics related to stalking.

Training Objectives include:

  • What a Bystander Is
  • What Stalking Is
  • Stalking Stereotyes
  • Victim Responses & Tactics
  • Bystander Role
  • Record Keeping
  • What a PPO is (Peace and Protective Orders)
  • Victims' Rights
  • Community Safety Planning

We will not be going in depth regarding stalking behaviors, victim response tactics, motivational types or Maryland Laws.

Please keep in mind, this training is interactive and will include discussions of stalking and scenarios of stalking victimization, therefore it may be triggering for some participants. You must be 18y/o or older to participate in this training (or enrolled in college with proper student ID and parental permission).
