S.T.A.B.L.E Program (REQUIREMENTS IN BOLD BELOW)

The goal of the S.T.A.B.L.E Program is to improve patient safety for infants by:

  1. Standardizing processes and approach to care
  2. Encouraging teamwork
  3. Identifying areas where medical errors can and do occur
  4. Reducing and eliminating preventable adverse events and errors

And by using a mnemonic to organize information assists with retention and recall of stabilization activities that are critical for the post-resuscitation/pre-transport care of sick infants.

SPH EMPLOYEES PRIOR TO THE COURSE:

  • Email Jennifer Walsh (jwalsh@sphealth.org) to have HealthStream assigned.
  • Complete the STABLE Foundations course via your HealthStream account
  • Print the Foundations Card and bring it with you to the in-person training.
  • Check out a STABLE book and the Paper Pre-Course Test (Located in People Development Department - Administration Building)
  • Complete the paper pre-test and bring with you to the in-person training.


NON-SPH EMPLOYEES PRIOR TO THE COURSE:

  • Purchase the STABLE Foundations course ($54) S.T.A.B.L.E. Foundations
  • Once you have purchased and completed the course, print the Foundations Card and bring it with you to the in-person training.
  • Check out a STABLE book and the Paper Pre-Course Test (Located in People Development Department - Administration Building)
  • Complete the paper pre-test and bring with you to the in-person training.


What to expect day of in person course:

Training Course Time (0830-1700)

  • Class begins at 0830am in the Spring Meadow Room (Administration Building), with two 15 minute breaks offered throughout the training course, as well as a 30-45 minute
    lunch; the training session will conclude by 5pm.
  • You must be present for the entire length of the training course.
  • Throughout the course training session, end of Module tests will be completed and graded.
  • You must receive 80% out of 100% to pass the course.
  • CE’s awarded by St. Peter’s Health upon completion of course requirements.

After completion of the course you will be emailed your STABLE card and CE’s.

It is recommended by the STABLE program to renew the course every two years.
