St. Louis Creative Studio Workshop

St. Louis Creative Studio Workshop

Overview

Learn the methods of photographer Nino Batista, whose work has graced the pages of multiple international Playboy, FHM, and much more.

Important: The workshop will be held in a private studio. To minimize any potential for damage to the venue, please bring a minimal rig with you (all lighting is provided). There will be no need to bring huge cases of gear or multiple camera systems, etc. Please try to keep your "gear footprint" reasonable, thanks!

Elevate your portrait work

Learn the methods of internationally published photographer Nino Batista. This is an inclusive, no-nonsense class for photographers who want to create intentional, powerful imagery without compromise.

This workshop is designed for photographers who are ready to expand their range and deepen their artistic voice. We’ll focus on the core elements that separate average images from memorable ones: lighting, posing, mood, emotional direction, composition, and cohesive style.

You’ll gain practical tools to refine your craft and produce work that feels elevated, deliberate, and unmistakably yours.

An interactive learning experience

This is not a lecture where you sit quietly and take notes.

Questions are encouraged. Discussion is encouraged. Nothing is off the table. From technical foundations to artistic development, bring it. The goal is clarity, growth, and real understanding.

You’ll receive direct feedback and honest insight in an environment designed for creative professionals who want to sharpen their edge.

Hands-on shooting segment

Theory only goes so far.

Participants will take part in a hands-on shooting session with professional model Briana Noir, applying the techniques covered throughout the day. Under Nino’s guidance, you’ll refine your approach to light shaping, direction, and visual storytelling in real time.

You’ll also watch live demonstrations of how Nino builds and executes his studio setups, giving you a clear look at both the creative and practical sides of the process.

Bonus: design perspective

With over 30 years of graphic design experience, Nino will also share insights into presentation (from albums to fine art books to print design) helping you think beyond the single image and toward complete visual experiences.
