    The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to come paddling on the St. John’s River with Education Specialist Tommy Nordmann and Environmental Specialist Holly Giles. Enjoy the scenic beauty of this slow-moving waterway and learn about the plants and animals that live along the shores and under the waters of this American Heritage River.

    **Important note: Please arrive 30 minutes prior to organize gear and complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program.

    ACTIVITY: A two-hour easy to moderate paddling trip. Difficulty will depend on wind and river currents.

    RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, your are not registered.

    TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary.

    AGES: Ages 10 and up are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

    ATTIRE: Wear clothing and shoes that can get wet.

    WHAT TO BRING: Watercraft (kayak, canoe, or SUP), paddle, personal flotation device (must be worn while paddling), whistle, water to drink, sunscreen, and bug spray

    FACILITIES: There will be a port-a-potty but no running water.
