About this event

Care for Lake St. Clair!

Our annual coast clean-up represents the City of St. Clair Shores highest-attended environmentally driven effort. Since 1996, we have received passionate volunteers (SCS resident or not) and local businesses to join our efforts in another annual edition to a decades-long tradition of addressing the health of Lake St. Clair along our beaches and shoreline.

Raising public awareness toward a clean lake remains at the forefront of our civil responsibilities in waterfront stewardship. Beyond the day's clean-up activities, attendees will learn of our efforts to improve water quality and ways to support a cleaner, safer lake. Join us for the morning and give back to the lake that gives us so much all year.

Activities begin at our event headquarters, Jefferson Yacht Club (JYC), at 8:00 AM with check-in, breakfast, and announcements. Following our morning's efforts, we welcome everyone's return to the JYC for a Lake St. Clair celebration at noon – games, music, food, and drink provided. You won't want to miss it!

Targeted Areas

  • Veterans Memorial Park & Beach
  • Blossom Heath Park, Beach, & Pier (new to the Clean-up!)
  • Chapaton Retention Basin shoreline (pending access due to construction)
  • Homeowner Association beaches, shorelines, and canal areas
