Sprouting & Rerouting
Join us for the opening of ankydyn gallery's group show at Freelancers Union NYC Hub in Industry City.
The first full group exhibition showcasing all 6 ankydyn gallery artists will open at Freelancers Hub in Industry City, Brooklyn.
Sprouting & Rerouting frames transformation as an ongoing condition: a continual negotiation in which new possibilities arise by bending, reconfiguring, and finding alternate ways forward. It draws on neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to adapt by forming new connections and redirecting existing pathways) as both a conceptual framework and a metaphor for artistic process.
The artists in the show engage parallel processes through form, gesture, material and subject. Across sculpture, drawing, painting and photography, growth appears as intuitive, responsive, and non-linear. Rather than presenting change as a resolved outcome, the works here emphasize process: emergence shaped by pressure, interruption, and adjustment.
About the gallery:
ankydyn gallery is built on accessibility, collaboration, and community. It believes “art belongs in everyday life”. Its exhibitions focus on context. The gallery places work in real environments and combines artists across disciplines to create conversations that feel natural, not staged. Painting beside sculpture. Photography beside everyday objects. Small details that change the way a space feels.
The gallery supports artists by giving them visibility, fair structure, and a platform that values their work. It champions creators with clear voices and honest intent - people who care about craft and want their work to be experienced, not just observed.
ankydyn exists for anyone who believes art should be reachable.
