Designed for female-led businesses, SpringRISE offers a dedicated day showcasing the practical support available - both soft supports and financial resources - to help female-led ventures move ahead with confidence.The event is hosted in partnership with Technological University of the Shannon, First Polymer Training Skillnet, iTag Skillnet, Space Industry Skillnet and Midlands Women in Tech. TUS RISE is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the ERDF Southern, Eastern &amp; Midland Regional Programme 2021-27.

This panel will explore real leadership journeys, focusing on resilience in the face of setbacks, 
structural challenges, and high-pressure environments. Speakers will discuss gender bias, 
uneven expectations, and navigating male-dominated spaces, sharing how they have challenged, adapted, and thrived within these systems.  Moderated by Dr Anne O’Connell: Network Manager & Head of Funded Projects for Medtech and Engineering - Ibec

Panel 1: Strong Female Resilience - Staying the Course 

This panel highlights leadership journeys and lessons learned at the frontier of innovation. Speakers will share practical insights, opportunities, and strategies for women navigating research, technology, and enterprise, offering inspiration and actionable takeaways. Moderator: Eleanor Moloney - Director, LSAD Research

Performance psychologist and endurance adventurer 
Karen is the first Irish woman to row the Atlantic Ocean solo and unsupported. With over 30 years’ experience working with business and sports teams, she specialises in motivation, coping strategies, and performance under pressure. Her research and real-world endurance experiences provide powerful insights into resilience and high performance.
