North Texas has a long growing season that accommodates many different types of vegetables. Growing your own at home can be easy when you know what to plant and how to care for them to get the juiciest harvests.

Learn about:

• What types of vegetables to plant when

• The best vegetable varieties for North Texas

• What type of soil to use and how to prepare your site

• How to care for your vegetable plants

• How and when to harvest your veggies for the best flavor

This is a free online class that will be on-demand from April 18-24. Register here to receive information on how to participate.

The class will be 45 minutes long and taught by a Tarrant County Master Gardener.

After registering, check your email for instructions on how to join the live online event.

Your registration is not complete until you click the link sent to your email a few days before the event.

Mansfield Residents: Pick up a free "Pizza Garden" on April 23 and 24!

Each Pizza Garden will contain a tomato plant, a pepper plant, and an herb! Register and attend the class to learn more.

There are two options for this event. Please be sure to select the registration type that corresponds with your choice.

Class only, NO Pizza Garden: If you don't want any plants, that is fine too! Get access to the online class only. You will get access to the online presentation about spring vegetable gardening, but will not get a Pizza Garden to take home.

Class and Pizza Garden registration (Mansfield residents only!): Get access to the online class and take home a free Pizza Garden. You will get access to the online presentation about spring vegetable gardening, and a Pizza Garden will be reserved for pick up on April 23rd or 24th. There are a limited number of plants available, so register now to reserve yours!

Attending the class is a requirement to get the Pizza Garden! This is an educational opportunity and the Pizza Gardens are only being offered as part of the educational experience.

Pick up information: Pizza Gardens will be available for pick up in Mansfield on April 23 and 24. Check your email after registering for more information.

Please wear a mask when you pick up your plants.

One garden per household. The address you register with must be located in Mansfield, Texas to be eligible to receive a free pizza garden. Any orders that do not comply with restrictions may be cancelled at TRWD’s discretion.
