Join us on Wednesday, April 8th for a hands-on pruning workshop! Experience the art and science of pruning with an immersive workshop at the Garden. Get an in-depth look at the rationale for proper pruning techniques with Executive Director Matthew Ross. Then grab your shears and join us in the gardens as you prune a variety of shrubs and small trees for hands-on experience and applying tips and tricks as you go. You'll be prepared to tackle your own garden!

Please bring your own set of clean pruning shears to use for this workshop.

About our Instructor

Matthew Ross is the Executive Director of The Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park. Before coming to Traverse City, he worked as the Continuing Education Director at Longwood Gardens overseeing over 200 programs in horticulture, landscape design, and floristry. He is nationally recognized as leader in horticulture and gardening and has a BS and MS from Michigan State University in Horticulture Science with an emphasis in Landscape Design Construction Management and Urban Forestry respectively.
