Preparing Your Plants
- Please identify each plant with a label, and bring them ready to go, not needing division or extra containers.
- If you know your plant is native or exotic, please add to the label. Including growth habit information is also very helpful (i.e.: shade, sun, approx. height, grows in clumps or spreads by runners, etc.).
- Please do not bring any invasive plants, unlabeled plants, or plants with weeds still attached.
- Remember to keep freshly dug plant material out of direct sun and keep roots moist until the swap.
Good Containers for Your Plants
- Old plastic nursery pots
- Yogurt cups with a hole
- Paper or plastic milk cartons with top cut off and a hole
- Egg cartons for groups of seedlings
- Plastic grocery bags for freshly dug plants/plants with larger roots
- Cardboard boxes for freshly dug larger plants
