Meet Co-Owner Theresa Cottrell

Theresa Cottrell is one of the passionate co-owners behind The Margaret, a New Orleans themed cocktail bar nestled in the heart of Birmingham, Alabama. With a deep appreciation for the history of New Orleans and a love of the downtown community, Theresa brings warmth, creativity, and business savvy to The Margaret’s unique atmosphere.

In addition to her work in hospitality, Theresa also maintains a successful career as an account executive for Alabama Media Group’s higher education marketing division, Advance Education. In this role, she develops enrollment marketing campaigns with the artistry of mixology. Her dual expertise gives her a rare edge—combining marketing acumen with a strong sense of hospitality and design.

Whether she’s curating cocktail menus, managing marketing campaigns,or helping guests feel right at home, Theresa brings authenticity, excellence, and a personal touch to everything she does.
