Andromeda of Boston Presents A Multicultural Celebration Featuring Local Dance Artists!

The Spring Hafla (Arabic for party), is a bi-annual multicultural showcase of dance ranging from MENAHT (Middle Eastern, North African, Hellenic, Turkish) to Asian, Balkan, and Eastern European styles. In the past, we have had a Bollywood number, Raqs Sharqi ("Dance of the East"/Arabic dance), Shaabi (Egyptian style meaning "of the people"), Turkish, American Modern Fusion, Greek/Tsiftetelli, and even a Hungarian folk number. We have featured artists from all over New England, including Maine, NH, VT, Western MA, and the Boston area. It is a fun opportunity for the community to experience multicultural dance and music in person. We strive to promote peace and joy through dance. There will be refreshments and social dancing after the performance.Featuring exciting new performances from student troupes House of Andromeda, Sirens of the Bay, Kaylin (and advanced students), Soraya Jamal, Namid, Sayuri, and joining us from VT - Amity Alize, The Raq-ettes, Irit Rakefet, and Magdalene!Show run time is approximately 75 minutes.Andromeda Belly Dance was established by Director Andromeda of Boston in 2015. We are a dance troupe embracing cultural dance, body positivity, and empowerment of women and minorities in the community. We have performed in private and public venues, including the Adventure and Travel Show at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston and local assisted living facilities. We have also performed with other local dance organizations. We enjoy producing our own shows in Newton twice a year.This program is supported in part by a grant from the Newton Cultural Council, a local council that is supported by the Mass Cultural Council and the City of Newton. We are also supported by Newton Community Pride. Alcohol is not allowed on the premises. Street parking is available. Event is accessible. GRACE CHURCH IS A SAFE SPACE OPEN TO ALL!
