12:00pm - 1:00pm Animal Portraits Master Study Painting Featured Artist: Janet Hyun with Sarah Sawyer (4 session class / 1hr per day):
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: This is a four-day workshop (4 hours total!) where we will be using acrylics on 8” x 10” canvas panel. Students will study the artwork of famous Christian artist from South Korea: Janet Hyun and begin sketching, color blocking, and background/foreground development using a variety of techniques and additional media. The finished piece will be suitable for framing.

1:00pm - 2:00pm. 3D Bas Relief Sculpture with Plaster & Clay Student's Choice with Mary Sawyer ( 4 session class / 1hr per day):
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: This is a four-day workshop (4 hours total!) where we will be using plaster and clay to create a 3D Bas Relief sculpture. Students will effectively learn art elements/principles as they sketch on a plaster surface, carve using clay/sculptural tools on plaster & clay, and turn reliefs into "frescoes" by painting. Students will be encouraged to design a creative sculptural form expressing their unique ideas and interests.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: In this 4 hour workshop (2-3pm daily) we delve into the performing arts world of musical theatre! Students will learn musical theatre basics, participate in actor-development activities, flagging, theatre games, and have a lot of musical fun in an environment that glorifies Jesus. Photos and video are included for parents as keepsakes.

3:00pm - 4:00pm Photography Workshop with Danelle Frisbie (4 session class / 1hr per day):
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: What makes a photograph truly captivating? In this 4 hour workshop (3-4pm daily) we will explore the elements of effective photography -- it is not about the camera! The skill of the photographer behind the lens makes all the difference. Any photo-taking device will work for this workshop (phone, camera, ipad, etc.), and students are invited to use the instructor's equipment if they do not have access to any device that takes photos. Each day we will cover a new subtopic: Intro/Nature, Animals, Humans, Action/Events. Students will leave this workshop with a new eye for photography and capturing better photos in their day to day lives. Students will also take home professional prints of their work and a print photo book (included in the cost of registration), and have access to our digital online photo album.

The instructors who teach students in engaging workshops are Christians and will be teaching from a Christian worldview. This is not a secular program, and we believe that it is important to provide students with freedom to express their Christian beliefs without suppression.
Each workshop lasts for an hour for four days.
