Overview

Celebrate the Spring Equinox with a day of community offerings geared for our folks to ground together.

Suggested donation: $75
No one is turned away for lack of funds.

Spring equinox is a decolonized start to the year and we celebrate it with a day of community offerings geared for our folks to ground together and fill our cups with nourishment for the upcoming seasons of resistance and world building. Our morning facilitators invite us to connect to the ancestral healing practices within each of our own lineages. The afternoon of hands on healing and group Tarot will offer nourishment and support our intentionality heading into the upcoming year. Lunch from Jackson Market will be provided.

Schedule:

10 AM - 11 AM Welcome and Introductions, following by grounding breath work/meditation practice with Ayurvedic Practitioner Nisha Ahuja
11 AM - 1 PM Ancestral Herbalism and Smudge Stick Workshop with Herbalist Jasmine Ayala
1 PM - 2 PM Lunch Provided
2:30 PM - 4 PM Hands on Healing Workshop with Kamryn Howard
4 PM - 5 PM Tarot Reading with Sanyu Estelle

Smudge Stick Workshop:
Drawing from her own ancestral herbalism knowledge reclaimed from her Mexican and Salvadorian roots, Jasmine will guide participants through creating their own smudge sticks as a simple and sacred practice, rather then purchasing commercially produced ones. She will go over herbs to match your intention and share traditional ways to use a smudge stick for cleansing / energetic clearing.

Hands on Healing:
After the lunch break, Massage therapist Kamryn Howard will bring us back together to once again ground as a group. We will break out into pairs and she will guide us through spiritual, physical, and emotional practices including therapeutic touch that heal and refresh. The group will learn simple techniques that can be used in daily life to tend to ourselves and loved ones.

Group Tarot Reading:
Our day will close with a group intuitive reading Sanyu Estelle to help us gain perspective and shine our way forward into the coming year with Spring’s birth. Sanyu Estelle is a Claircognizant ("clear knowing") Soothsayer ("truth teller") that is also known as "The Word Witch" because of her deep love for word origins (etymology) and word culture (philology). These natural inclinations are bolstered by a 15+ year practice of Daoism, as well as a 10+ year relationship with Ifa, the indigenous tradition of the Yoruba people of now-Nigeria. As a Soothsayer, Sanyu Estelle's gift is truth-telling. With 15 years of card reading experience and 25 years of public speaking experience, her readings are often listened to over many years by her clients. She is a "1st generationish" (long, but great story) US-American of Ugandan and Belizean descent, born, bred, and buttered in Los Angeles on land traditionally stewarded by the Tongva.
