ForestPlanet supports high-volume forest restoration projects around the world to the tune of 2 million trees planted to date. We also like to get our hands dirty supporting other tree projects where we can, especially in our own back yard, i.e. Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC. We're big fans of the ongoing Peirce Mill demonstration orchard project, and we've written about it here.
We had a good crowd for a recent Spring clean up day, but there's more work to be done. SO, once more with feeling...
Sunday May 4th is the next volunteer day down at the Orchard and you're invited to join us!
Volunteers are needed to:
- Spread mulch around the apple and pear trees
- Cut back the winder cover
- Attend to other minor landscaping tasks.
Come out and get dirty!
What to bring: We will be working outside in variable weather conditions; please wear adequate sun protection and appropriate clothing for the weather. Gardening tools will be provided, but volunteers are asked to bring a pair of gloves. Please remember a water bottle, and snacks if you'd like them. There are restrooms and a waterbottle-refilling station nearby.
RSVPs via the Get Tickets button are appreciated so we know how many tools to bring.
If you're not able to attend but would like to support our global forest restoration projects, any donations are gratefully accepted. Simply click the Get Tickets to start the process.
Thank you for the consideration and we'll see you then and there!
