About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Your tour guide, Jason Antonick, will take you on a slow-paced walk through the grounds and identify different bird species. Whether you are looking for a Carolina Wren, Black and White Warbler or a beautiful Cardinal, bring your binoculars, take a stroll and search our beautiful grounds.

Jason Antonick, started birding over 40 years ago as a kid taking Summer Lore classes at the Dayton Museum of Natural History (today known as the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery). One of his first programs was a birding class at Englewood MetroPark. “I still remember the excitement at the age of 6 years old when a giant Great Blue Heron flew 50 feet overhead! I was hooked, and have been an active birder ever since.”

Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum is located at 118 Woodland Avenue off of Brown Street near University of Dayton campus. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear a good pair of walking shoes. Do not forget your camera or binoculars!

Meet at the Eichelberger Plaza at the main gates of the cemetery.
