Spring Bird Walk

The Friends of the Reserve supports Lake Superior Reserve programs, operations, and facilities by building our membership, advocating for the Reserve, fundraising, organizing volunteer efforts.  We also produce events to help the community enjoy the estuary and the area around it. Our members enable us to be a reliable partner to the Reserve and an advocate for stewardship and protection of the St. Louis River Estuary, and Lake Superior’s coasts and estuaries.

Spring Bird Walk at Wisconsin Point, Tuesday, June 1, 2021

Wisconsin Point

Thanks for your interest in our Spring Bird Walk.  Since the event has already started no more tickets are available.

The Friends of the Lake Superior Reserve will hold our first Spring Bird Walk at Wisconsin Point. The walk will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 7:30am. We are pleased to have Jeff Davis join us to lead the walk. Jeff is the president of President of the Duluth Audubon Society. We are hoping to see spring migrating species, especially warblers. Anyone is welcome to join us. No experience is necessary.This event celebrates the City of Superior&#x27;s designation as a Wisconsin Bird City, and the annual World Migratory Bird Day.We will meet at Lot 4 on Wisconsin Point. After introductions and a brief overview of the walk, we will explore the beach as well as forest habitats. If time permits, we may then take our personal vehicles to explore the Superior Entry area. The walk is planned to last about 2 hours.Please dress for the weather and wear good shoes for walking in the woods and on the beach. A pair of binoculars will be helpful. We encourage all to take appropriate cautions related to COVID-19.Following is a map of the meeting location.
