Spring 2022 Python Foundations (taught by Dr. Esperanza Huerta)

The Data Science for All Seminar Series is an NSF-funded project that provides university and community college students with introductory training on leading data science tools and techniques. Unlike many data science programs, the Data Science for All seminars are designed for students from any academic background, no prior knowledge needed, and offer hands-on learning in an approachable, no-risk environment. The seminars are free and offer the opportunity to earn digital badges from the Lucas College & Graduate School of Business. Join us to learn data science skills highly valued by today's employers!

Data Science for All Seminar Series

The seminar will be offered through a combination of pre-seminar exercises and recorded videos, a live webinar, and post-seminar activities.

Data scientists analyze a great deal of data, always assisted by computers. Data scientists tell computers what to do by coding programs with very detailed instructions. Before you can engage in data science, you need to know how to interpret, modify, and create computer programs. This seminar is ideal for people who have never programmed before. This session is primarily hands-on, but it includes conceptual explanations to develop programming skills transferable to any other programming language.
