For Students Who Have Completed Grades 1 - 6
This one-week, performance-based camp serves as an introduction to musical theater. Designed for children who have completed Grades 1 through 6, the camp is carefully articulated so that returning campers develop their performance skills by participating in fun, age-appropriate activities in the areas of music, dance/movement, and acting. During craft time, students work on projects that serve as costumes, props, and scenery for the production. Recreation time is included each day.
The instruction is provided by experienced teachers, aided by experienced teenage volunteer interns. Roles are cast on the first day of camp at the discretion of the directing team and announced at Monday’s pickup. Not all children will be assigned a speaking role. There is no appeal process for casting decisions. No experience is necessary. Theater Camp is not a guarantee of casting in a future Spotlights’ show, nor is it a requirement.
The camp culminates with two performances of Disney’s Jungle Book KIDS on Friday evening. Performances will take place in the Spotlights’ newly-constructed performance space, and participation in the performances is required. Each participant will receive two complimentary tickets for the performances. Reservations are required. Additional tickets may be purchased during camp, based on availability. Camper packets containing scripts and music will be available for pick up the week prior to camp.

Note: Refunds, minus an approximate $13 fee, can be processed up to 7 days before the start of the camp (July 29 at 9:00AM). You may access your registration via the confirmation email to process your refund. After this deadline, no refunds will be processed.
