Celebrate Mother's Day by joining us for a Cocktail Class about Spokane. Explore the history of Spokane through three unique cocktails. Learn how the founding of Spokane Falls in 1873 coincided with important changes in America's drinking culture. As the nation expanded westward toward the Pacific, the drinking habits of the thirsty newcomers also evolved.
Our cocktail classes are hands-on, featuring bartending stations for each pair of guests. You'll grab onto a shaker, mixing glass, and bar spoon while learning mixology techniques. We'll explain the importance of each method as we guide you through the steps. Our team arrives early to press fresh juices, make syrups from scratch, and prepare all the ingredients needed for three drinks.
We'll make and enjoy the drinks in chronological order to tell the story of Spokane's development over time. From the founding years and the changes of the late nineteenth century to the people, places, and events that shaped Spokane and cocktail culture — hello, Prohibition! — in the twentieth century. Our classes blend history and mixology. Taste the history!
Hogwash Whiskey Den's master mixologist, Simon, will guide you through the ingredients with mixology lessons on using the barkeep's tools and techniques. Raising the Bar's resident historian, Renée, shares stories and the history of Spokane.
Tickets are $75 per person. Your ticket includes:
