What is SpinUp?

SpinUp is an event for the online drone community. It was create for drone pilots, both professional and hobbyist, who share a love for flying unmanned aerial vehicles, often called drones. It is also for content creators. SpinUp was established in 2017 and this year will be our fifth event.

Question 2

Some drone events are free, why does SpinUp cost money?

Accepted Answer

SpinUp is more than a meetup. It is a drone conference with speakers, refreshments, lunch, giveaways, and more. The costs to put on this event include the cost of the venue, liability insurance, promotional costs, food for the attendees, and other costs.

Question 3

If I buy a ticket now but find out that I can't come, can I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Yes.
Refunds are available until September 15, 2023.
Because we need to finalize our attendance numbers, no refunds will be offered after that date.

Question 4

Where should I stay while I'm attending SpinUp?

Accepted Answer

The venue is in Cedar Park, which is a suburb of Austin, Texas.
There are many mid-priced hotels near the venue. We will be working on room blocks with discount codes and will post those to this web site soon!

Question 5

What if I want to bring my spouse or other family member?

Accepted Answer

We will offer a discounted second ticket for these situations. We do request that everyone in attendance register and have a ticket so that we can be sure to accommodate everyone with seating and foot.

Question 6

Will there be chances to fly?

Accepted Answer

Yes.
Our venue will have a patio area near a green space and small pond that you can fly over. You are welcome to bring a drone and fly it safely at the event. You can also bring small, tiny whoop style drones to fly indoors at the event.

Will food and snacks be provide at SpinUp?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.

Will there be giveaways?

Accepted Answer

Yes.
We will give away prizes from Insta360, EMAX, DJI and more.
Every paid attendee will receive 2 raffle tickets. 
Additional raffle tickets are available for $5 each.
