About this event

Hi! I'm Savannah, I'm 22 years old, and I'm a professional plant nerd with my own shop in Olney! Super excited to teach this next workshop and see some smiling faces!
Beginner-Friendly
Everyone should get to have a garden. It's so exciting to watch plants grow! No worries if you don't have your green thumb yet. I'll get you started, and show you how fun and laidback gardening can be. It's a great time when you're not in it alone. You need some good guidance to set you off on the right foot!
It's time for some creative fun! I'm totally in love with how the example plants turned out. I've got more baby cacti ready and waiting, and some cute little cups to pot them in, with clear cups to go inside as a liner! That way, you can check the roots and soil whenever you want. We'll have lots of crystals and decorations, too!
Would you believe that all my succulents thrive without drainage holes? I'll show you how I keep them looking their best!
Welcome!
This is a cozy and clean environment. We've got a carpeted floor, soft chairs, a vacuum and little brooms for spills, and a restroom if you need it. You can bring snacks and a water bottle, too. This is a chatty workshop, by the way! It's nothing too formal or intimidating. You don't have to sit all still and silent in between instructions. I want people to feel comfortable and have fun! Chances are, I'll be in my comfy socks while I'm teaching, and I'll have some classic pop songs playing quietly in the background.
I should mention that, in terms of accessibility, the shop is on the second floor of a building, at the top of a set of stairs. Unfortunately, we do not have an elevator, but we wish we could!
Thanks a bunch for your support!
I hope to see you at the workshop. Bring some friends, too, it'll be a great time you won't wanna miss!
Frequently asked questions
Root rot is caused by a build-up of water without air pockets. That's why pots usually have holes at the bottom: to let you use tons of water without drowning your plant. In a clear container, you can easily see when you've added enough water, so there's no excess that needs draining out.
No worries! Pipette and a microfiber cloth, to the rescue!
I'll have a few succulents that don't need super bright light, so there's something for everyone. You can also get a grow light for really cheap. Grow light bulbs are available for around $5 online and can go into a regular lamp. Neat!
