Hot Potato Hearts Speed Dating is designed to take the stress out of meeting new people. Forget swiping, awkward intros, or worrying if you’re in the “right” place — this event is about showing up as yourself and seeing where the conversations go.

Here’s what to expect:

• You’ll rotate through a series of short, 5-minute conversations with different people.
• After each date, you’ll jot down whether you’d like to connect again — as a potential date, a new friend, or simply someone you’d like to keep chatting with.
• The next day, we’ll email you your matches so you can take the next step on your own terms.

At Hot Potato Hearts, we don’t pair people based on gender identity or orientation. Everyone meets everyone, which means more possibilities to spark a crush, find a brunch buddy, or laugh with someone you wouldn’t otherwise cross paths with.

You can expect between 25–40 participants at each event. The energy is always relaxed, welcoming, and fun. Whether you’re new to the city, looking to expand your circle, or just curious, this is one of the best ways to connect with new people in Chicago.
