Fit23 Wellness Program
Speed & Conditioning Training

Speed and conditioning training is a crucial component of athletic development for youth aged 7 to 21 years of age. This training not only equips young athletes with fundamental skills but also enhances their overall performance, enabling them to compete at higher levels. A strong work ethic is essential for success in sports, and speed and conditioning programs foster discipline and commitment in young athletes.

As these participants progress, it is vital for them to learn how to take care of their bodies through an emphasis on flexibility and muscle strength. Proper conditioning reduces the risk of injury and lays the foundation for a sustainable athletic career. This program is designed to support athletes in their individual development, empowering them to navigate their paths in athletics effectively.

Our program extends its benefits to children on the autism spectrum, promoting good self-wellness habits that contribute positively to their long-term health and well-being. By fostering an inclusive environment, the program not only enhances physical capabilities but also encourages social interaction and personal growth. Ultimately, a well-rounded approach to speed and conditioning training can significantly influence the trajectory of young athletes, equipping them with the necessary tools for personal and athletic success.

Frequently asked questions

How does this training help my child’s development?

Improved Acceleration and Top Speed: Speed training focuses on developing both acceleration and maximum speed, which are crucial for numerous sports. Enhancing these abilities allows a child to reach their top speed more quickly during competition, impacting their performance in sports.

What advantages does this training offer?

Better Agility and Quickness: Speed training often incorporates agility drills that help improve a child's ability to change direction quickly and efficiently. This enhanced agility is important in sports that require rapid movements, like basketball and soccer, where evading opponents is key.

Does this training help with endurance?

Increased Endurance: Although speed training is primarily focused on developing short bursts of speed, it can lead to improvements in overall conditioning. Working on speed can enhance fast-twitch muscle fiber development, which can contribute to better endurance in various sports.

Does this training help with coordination?

Enhanced Coordination. Speed training can improve neuromuscular coordination, which is critical for executing complex movements in sports. The ability to synchronize movements more effectively can lead to better skill execution, whether in running, striking a ball, or performing specific technique.

How does this training help my child that never trained before?

Injury Prevention: By focusing on proper mechanics during speed training, children can develop better running form and body awareness. This understanding can reduce the risk of injuries associated with poor biomechanics in athletics.

What sport benefits from this training?

The skills learned through speed training (like explosiveness, reaction time, and body control) can transfer from one sport to another. For example, attributes developed with speed training can benefit performance in basketball, soccer and football as they all require quickness.
