Friday, August 2, 2024

5:30 pm Tour Time

If these walls could talk, imagine what they’d tell us about the history of Sotterley and the people that lived in Manor House. Join us for this specialty tour led by Sotterley’s Interpretive Programs Manager and a presentation by local architect Jim Ritter uncovering a series of architectural mysteries. Discover how the manor house was transformed from 1703 until the early 20th century. Explore how the manor house’s transformation was centered around the history of slavery at Sotterley. Along the way learn about passageways that once connected rooms and the manor house’s post in ground foundation.

The tour will be followed by a reception with wine, nibbles, and a Q&A.

Recommended for ages 16 & older. Walking and standing required, please note the historic house is not ADA compliant.

Advance reservations required - please no walk-ins. Limited to 20 people.
