We’re RISE amabassadors, and we’re on a mission to make civic engagement feel accessible, not intimidating. After talking to youth across the city, we heard the same thing: The biggest barrier is just not knowing enough about how it all works.
That’s why we created Speak Easy—a completely free and beginner-friendly event designed to demystify our government. Whether you’re a total newbie or just curious, come hang out with us for an evening of learning and connection, over coffee, tea, and snacks.

We have 4 pods set up. Grab a wristband at the door and visit each pod to chat with experts and get your hands on some fun activities. Steep Decisions Spill The Tea ️ Common Grounds ️ Grounds For Doubt Collect a stamp from all 4 pods on your wristband, and you’ll unlock a special limited edition Speak Easy drink! Plus, we’ll have snacks all day. 2PM Kick-off 2:15PM Mingling and pods 3:45PM Post-event survey 4:00 PM: Raffle Draw 4:15 PM Open floor 5:00 PM Wrap up
