Step into an intimate after-work speakeasy experience where Chicago artistry takes center stage.
Speak, Easy is a live performance series curated for lovers of music, storytelling, and soul-stirring moments. Set in a warm, hidden-away space, this gathering invites you to slow down, sip something intentional, and be present with the art unfolding in front of you.
Each edition features live performances by Chicago artists — vocalists, musicians, and storytellers — weaving sound and story into a night that feels both nostalgic and electric.

🎤 'Momma Kemba' travels the U.S. and abroad, keeping the spirit of strong Black Women in American history alive through dramatic storytelling and song. Extensive research is evident in her presentations. They are described as "spiritual, riveting, dynamic, fine-tuned, motivational, inspirational, and educational." The stories of Harriet Tubman, Mary McLeon-Bethune, Sojourner Truth, Ida B. Wells, Aunt Clara Brown, and Fannie Lou Hamer are performed in full costume. Kemba conducts workshops that demonstrate teaching and learning through drama and storytelling.

🎤Brandye Phillips is the daughter of internationally renowned singer and songwriter West Phillips. West Phillips is best known for his Billboard charting hit song "I'm Just a Sucker for a Pretty Face."

Her portrayal of Whitney received the ultimate stamp of approval from Pat Houston, Gary Houston, and Whitney’s nephew when they served as casting judges at a Chicago audition for The Whitney Houston Hologram Project. That moment affirmed what audiences already feel ~ Sherie doesn’t just lip sync Whitney… she honors her.
From the wardrobe to the hair, from the signature mannerisms to the spirit behind the voice, Sherie Yvette embodies the elegance, power, and emotional depth of Whitney Houston with stunning authenticity.
Beyond the stage, Sherie’s story is one of resilience and grace. She is a proud 28-year Lupus survivor and recently received her second kidney transplant on 9/11/24. Her strength is not only heard, it is lived in her journey.
